Common Sense Diner
Join us at the University of Michigan Museum of Art for lunch or dinner with a small group of people at the Common Sense Diner. Let’s get to know each other and talk about what it means to be an American right now. The purpose is not to persuade anyone from their position. Our goal is to break bread, ask questions, and listen to each other. Let’s set aside our cynicism for one meal and see that it’s possible to have conversations with people we disagree with and see that we share the same goals for our families and communities. Let’s find a way to work together to achieve those goals together.

Campus Climate Support
Creating and maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment for all is a university priority. To that end, Campus Climate Support staff members focus on addressing concerns that may create harm to members of our community based on their identity. A campus climate concern can include actions that discriminate, stereotype, exclude, harass or harm anyone in our community based on their identity (such as race, color, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, or religion). Concerns may stem from fear, misunderstanding, hatred or stereotypes–and behaviors may be intentional or unintentional.

Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships
Contact: Melissa Vert, Director
The Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships (ONSF) supports multiple national, international, and U-M-based opportunities that champion Democracy, Civic Empowerment, and Global Engagement. This includes the Obama Voyager Scholarship, the Truman Scholarship, the Wallenberg Fellowship, and the Gaither Junior Fellows Program. Programs supported at ONSF provide awardees everything from internships and work experience, to leadership opportunities and graduate education. Critically, these awards also fund undergraduate and graduate tuition. ONSF is open to all U-M students and alumni: at any point in their education, U-M students and alums can find an opportunity that suits their career objectives and abilities, and ONSF is there to offer crucial support such as advising and navigating the application process.
